Real Life
Having taken on a new job and, at the same time, working on an Iceberg project, I have found little time to update. I have also shifted focus from tech-startups, since there has been very little that has caught my attention or interest. I will be putting together a little post on putting together a new desktop, since that is one of my goals at the moment.

Slooow weeks
I haven’t seen any news or startup for the past two weeks that has caught my attention. It seems it’s been a slow 2 weeks, on top of my days tinkering with Iceberg.

Iceberg and Open Suse 11 Beta 3
Currently I am busy with creating an app using Iceberg. It’s a really nice platform so far and I’m enjoying it. I’m also busy testing out Open Suse 11 Beta 3.

Yes, it seems Zenbe is now ready for more users. I just happened to notice that zenbe registration now looks like this:
Go ahead and click the image to register for your Zenbe account.
Is Zenbe now open beta? I haven’t heard news of it though. Nothing in the forums (or did I miss something). It’s definitely not yet up on their blog and I just checked. But I’m not complaining. Zenbe is now open for registration! That’s GOOD NEWS everyone!
No need to look for zenbe invites now, just go signup at www.zenbe.com

Review: crowdSPRING
I’ve posted my REVIEW of crowdSPRING. I’m open to your opinion and violent reactions. Nonetheless, crowdSPRING is one great service, and one good example of how crowdsourcing can actually work.
By the way, crowdSPRING is now open to the public. REGISTER here

Review: EverNote
I just finished my REVIEW of EverNote. Check it out here.
Somehow, writing a review for Evernote took longer than expected. How do you write a review about something that’s simple and easy to use other than saying that it’s “simple and easy to use for your note taking needs”? But it’s up anyway.
I also realized that I actually have a few evernote invites lying around.

Zenbe Invites
Update May 13:
Found some zenbe invites over at tadbit. I have emailed some of those requesting for invites.
Update May 10:
Currently I can’t find zenbe invites. The latest release of invites was 500 invites from Mashable , which ran out quickly.
Update May 7:
Okay I have some good news. For those who have posted comments in my review of Zenbe, I got you some accounts
Thank you Zenbe!
There are many people who are excited to get into zenbe for a test. I was told that there is no specific date when invites will be sent out again since they are still probably busy addressing issues and bugs that popped up during the initial wave of invites. For now, the best and fastest way to get an invite would be to fall in line at Zenbe. We are all hopeful that it doesn’t take too long for everyone to receive an invite.

Xobni goes Open Beta
For Outlook users out there, Xobni has just opened it doors to the public. Again, this is only for MS Outlook (for now), so if you’re not on Outlook you’d have to actually shift to be able to make use of this add-on.
I used Xobni for a few months but gave up because Outlook is a BIG HOG for my 512mb rig. I’m looking forward to Xobni for Thunderbird though.

Microsoft walks away from Yahoo!
In the end, Microsoft walks away. No deal. No hostile take-over.
TechCrunch has a summary of the day’s events surrounding Microsoft and Yahoo. (Listen to The Gilmore Gang)
I also spent a few hours putting together a timeline below of important dates/events leading up to today
