got my crowdSPRING beta invite
I was pleasantly surprised to see a crowdSPRING beta invite waiting in my mail yesterday. This is one creative freelancing site that I’ve been looking forward to try out. I’ve tried guru.com (creativemoonlighter.com) and elance, and what they don’t have is a way to measure yourself up to other bidders. For someone (me for example) who’s not a professional designer, it’s hard to improve when all you see are bids day and night.
With crowdSPRING, you get to see the portfolio of who you’re bidding against, you get to see what they’ve designed for the project as well. It’s both a good thing and a bad thing, but openness is something clients will always appreciate.
Here’s a little info (i took this from their site) about who’s behind crowdSPRING:
With backgrounds in both the creative industry and law, crowdSPRING is a labor of love for a team that believes strongly in the creative process and the protection of intellectual property. We left no stone unturned – from free, binding legal contract generation for every transaction and advanced digital watermarking to a built-in, secure escrow service and a feedback rating system – we tried to make a safe environment for both Buyers and Creatives alike.
I’m no design expert, but I’m very much looking forward to growing and improving with crowdSPRING. Skills is one thing, inspiration is another
I will post a review of their service soon.
If you haven’t received an invite yet, you can take a look at their blog while waiting for one.
