Zenbe Webmail
In A Nutshell (update May 05)
- Interface : Simple, Uncluttered, User-Friendly
- Special Features : Zenpage (for collaboration and sharing), File sharing
- Email : Can send/receive mails from your other accounts
- Ads : No Ads!
- Load Time : Pretty fast for me even during initial load
- Mail Delivery Speed : Better and faster now. still a bit sluggish
- Additional tools : Task List, Facebook Quickview (haven’t used this)
- Calendar : A bit sluggish when using the tabbed calendar (sidebar calendar works fine)
- Mail Organization : Uses tags. Could improve with addition of user-defined folders.
Bugs & Flaws (updated May 05)
- Composer Fails to load (major recurring bug) : ‘Do Not’ leave composed email unsent (draft folder). If and when the composer bug hits you, it will happen in the drafts folder (from experience). When this happens, whatever was in your draft letter disappears. Maybe it’s still there, but the composer will never load the editing area if a certain draft was bugged even after clearing cache. This draft (bug screenshot) actually had content before I left it as a draft to send at a later time. You will notice that now it is missing the edit area as well as the supposed recipient and the subject. It’s now sitting in my drafts folder not editable containing nothing.
- Spam filter : Cannot be configured. I’ve been trying to figure out where the whitelist is.
- Spam filter Bug : Some ‘read’ emails that have been identified as spam cannot be marked as ‘not spam’.
- Deleted emails : Deleted emails get moved to ‘deleted’ folder but they cannot be purged. I don’t know how long they’ll remain in the deleted folder, I’m still observing. On a side note, I hope a purge button appears sometime soon because I already have a deleted folder full of duplicates from re-popping one of my accounts.
- Composer Bug : Sometimes ‘Loading Composer’ freezes up. If it does not go back to normal after re-login, clear cache.
- Manage Mail : When editing your other mail account details, you get 2 identical windows popping up. You need to close the first window, the underlying window is the one that allows your changes to take effect
The Main Area
When you log into your account, you are greeted by a simple, user-friendly interface.
Zenbe makes use of tags to organize your email. When adding in a new email account, you can set tags to those emails to remind you that they come from your other email accounts.
All email actions are also neatly set in a row. New, Reply, Reply All, Forward, Delete, Spam, Archive, Mark Read. It can’t get any simpler than that, so you can’t go wrong with email.
On the left side, you get a simple and effective navigation bar. The only thing I wish for in this layout is for another way to segregate email from other accounts (say folders? I know it’s old-fashioned). But I can get used to this TAG setup.
Now let’s take a look at the right side. By default, you will get to see your calendar. The sidebar is collapsable to give more space to your email window. Yes collapsable! In addition to the calendar, the sidebar also houses your Contacts, Todo List, and a handy Facebook Quickview.
I don’t use my facebook account and I’m not a Twitter user. But that’s just me. I would bet there are requests from users to add a similar tool for Twitter in the sidebar.
The Zenpage
I haven’t used zenpage enough to give my personal review. But I will definitely be using zenpage for my team. Here’s a video from Zenbe blog.

Cool – any invites available?
Did they give you any invites by chance? I’m dying to give this a try; it looks awesome!
Hi guys,
I wish I were able to give a few invites out. As it is, I think Zenbe is keeping users to a manageable level while they improve their service for the public. I will let you know if there are invites available. I might get a few for you guys just let me know what username you’d like (give me several choices in case they are no longer available). Thanks for dropping by
Zenbe has a good domain name. Please send me an invite to my email when you can give out invites. The username I would like to use is either ina or id or nd or inad. Thanks for a nice review of zenbe.
Hello Ina,
I’ll let you know when I get hands on an invite. I’m glad you liked my little review. Thanks!

Hi guys,
For now, zenbe won’t be releasing any invites until they address some issues. Hopefully it won’t be too long. To be sure, I hope you also dropped by their main site to signup for an invite. I have invited you all to zenpages for now, it’s the best I could do for the moment.
